About Us

The Union Club is a non-profit organisation owned by its members. People often ask why we are called the Union Club. Well, in 1903 the Conservative and Liberal clubs merged to form a single club, hence the "Union Club" came into being. The club is headed by its President, currently Terry Bowes, and run by an enthusiastic committee. We have a resident club steward, Wayne Daniels, who does an excellent job in providing a first class bar and catering service. He keeps what is udoubtably the best, and cheapest, range of real ales in the village.

The objective of the club is quite simple; to provide a convivial social and sporting venue for local residents who can socialise and participate in the games we engage in here, snooker, bowls, darts, pool and dominoes. Membership is just £ 40 per annum, and details of how to join can be found here. We have BT Sports, free Wi-Fi, two comfortable lounges, four snooker tables, our own bowling green and a meeting room. The club also has full wheelchair access. The club is continually improving its facilities, and 2015 has seen some major improvements to the bar area, with more work planned. We are also "dog friendly", as long as your canaine companion is welll behaved!

Guests are also very welcome, and the club makes its facilities open to groups who wish to hold meetings or social events here. The bowling green is also available fore hire. Every summer we hold a highly popular micro beer festival which is open to all.

Opening times: the club is open Monday to Saturday 12:00pm to 2:30pm and 6:00pm to midnight

Why not call in to the club to see what we have to offer?
